STORRS, Conn. – UConn completes its journey back to the NCAA tournament on Thursday when the Huskies face St. Joseph’s.
They have not won an NCAA game since Kemba Walker led the improbable run to the program’s third national title in 2011.
The team lost in the first-round of the 2012 tournament and was banned last year because players in previous years had failed to meet NCAA academic Standards.
That led several players to leave the program. But the Huskies say the adversity also bonded them as a group.
In addition to their success on the court, coach Kevin Ollie has said the Huskies expect to receive a perfect academic progress report from the NCAA in May.
