We’re all guilty of dozing off during the standard airline safety spiel but one flight attendant is on a mission to keep passengers entertained.
Marty Cobb, a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines, unleashed an earful on passengers with her stand-up like safety instruction routine.
“Position your seat belt tight and low across your hips, like my grandmother wears her support bra,” Cobb quips. “Everybody gets a door prize in the seat back in front of you, along with dirty diapers, chewing gum wrappers, dirty diapers, and all the other gifts you leave for us from time to time.”
She’s sarcastic, honest, but most importantly, entertaining. By the end of her speech, passengers are literally shaking with laughter. Cobb finishes strong with a less than standard invitation to complain.
“If there’s anything at all we can do to make your flight more enjoyable, please tell us … just as soon as we land in Salt Lake City. And if there’s anything you can do to make our flight more enjoyable, we’ll tell you immediately. We’re not shy in Southwest.”
The video of Cobb’s routine has since gone viral with over 5 million views. The Texas native has made appearances on Good Morning America and the Today show. But her goal is to meet Ellen Degeneres and Jimmy Fallon.
“I had a passenger pull me aside and say ‘oh my gosh, we’ve got to get you on Ellen because you’re so hilarious and that is such a compliment coming from passengers,” Cobb told NBC affiliate KCBD of Lubbock, Texas.
