President Donald Trump is currently in India and visiting the prime minister along with Melania. Even in another country, Trump goes on another Twitter rant, and this time he is targeting his intelligence agencies.
It has become the norm to see Trump attack people or establishments on social media, and this latest Twitter rant is no different. Politicalflare reports that the President went on Twitter and began firing shots at the United States intelligence communities. “ “U.S. Intelligence official overstated assessment of Russian efforts to help Trump” (Fox News) (Gregg Jarrett) They supposedly told Crazy Bernie that Russia was looking at him, not me. This is all a big scam between Intel and the Democrats. They want Bernie OUT, & hate “Trump” “ tweeted Trump.
He continued his rant in another tweet, targeting once again the House Intelligence Committee Chairperson Adam Schiff, “It has been a scam right from the beginning with the illegally started Mueller Report, FISA, the leaking, the lying & more. Schiff should not have access to Intelligence, he is a corrupt pol. “Amazing that they went to Bernie Sanders, but not to President Trump,” (Martha MacCallum)”
This is following his comments to the media before departing for India a few days prior. Trump was insisting that he had not been briefed regarding Russia’s supposed interference of the upcoming elections to help him win. This briefing to Congress resulted in Trump firing the acting DNI Joseph Maguire and replacing him with Richard Grenell. The President accused Schiff prior to this latest Twitter rant of being the one responsible for leaking intelligence, to which Schiff fired back and called him out for deflection and false claims.
Meanwhile, tensions between the United States and the Middle East still remain. Newsweek reports that Trump spoke at a press conference in New Delhi regarding the country’s status towards Iraq, Iran, and Syria. Trump suggested that they steer away from fighting against the militant groups in the region and instead focus on gaining control of their oil and resources. Trump explained that the United States has taken control of the oil and that the troops that are stationed there are there to guard the oil. He also said that there is still a unit in Iraq and Afghanistan, but are actively moving around.
